Americas Youth are Getting a Kick Out of Soccer

From my seat in the stands, I could see that this years football skills have been a test of a player's agility, strength, speed, agility, practice and coordination. It was hot inside the facility Etc. Soccer this late afternoon in May However, the heat did nothing to my nephew or the twenty remaining candidates at the football field discouraged youth. The tryouts were for the last two places file Aztec football youth first in the fall and the competition was intense.

In fact, over half a million people in the United States now on football and almost eighty percent of participants are under eighteen. As I watched, I could see that the stands were occupied by parents who clearly have the support of their child, the football game.

I continued to attend the exercises and a boy of twelve, as he bounced a ball on his foot in the air repeatedly without ever touching the ball on the ground. I looked up, he performs this service for more than two hundred times in a row. I can only imagine how many hours of practice necessary to achieve this competency.

When I looked at his display of dexterity, I wondered what happened to the experts who had dismissed the growth of soccer in America in the mid eighties. I remember the reasons at that time to dismiss the sport in this country. They said it would never be popular here because it is a game "foreign". Americans do not "dominate" the game is another reason often cited. It was a game that has not been "discovered" in America, but some thought .. There was not enough staff is a common reason. Sports that were already popular in American football, growth and prevent the domination of another reason, the time to dismiss the sport.

So what happened the last two decades of football does sport's apparent choice for young people of America? There are several things to consider when examining the popularity of soccer has increased over the last twenty years: Football is a game that boys and girls to play. It is cheaper for the federal organization of youth cash than football. Most secondary schools have a football program in addition to their football programs. The American Youth Soccer Association has been very successful in the popularization and commercialization of soccer with the youth of America. More and more Americans now have the game played in their youth more fans. Latin American immigrants are increasingly popular football, while the advent of the World Cup in America in 1994 also introduced the visibility of the game.

Suddenly a strong rallying cry erupted from the stands as my cousin has a powerful shot into the goal kicks. I smiled quietly at me when I considered how similar my cousin huge success for soccer growth in America. Both are strong, led by young strong legs you a real kick of the game.
