The striker of Bayern Munich and the German team, Miroslav Klose, is at least two very important games for his country to miss, and several games for his club because of a knee injury that will keep him away from fields for a minimum of three weeks, according to the Bayern manager, Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Klose aggravated a right knee injury during the Bundesliga win against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, September 29th last.
The shocking announcement came in a very bad time because Klose played with Bayern Munich for the UEFA Cup and the Bundesliga, where he runs with 8 goals this season was expected, and with the German matches from the Euro against the Czech Republic and Ireland, which are of vital interest to the path of Germany's Euro 2008.
Just days before Klose showed that goalkeeper Oliver Kahn was also to be out of Bavaria for a month because of an elbow injury, then both players will miss the team crucial first round the UEFA Cup return match against Belenenses Lisbon, Portugal, next Thursday, October 4th.
Klose, 29, won the Golden Boot at the 2006 World Cup in Germany as top scorer with 5 goals, the same number of goals scored in his debut World Cup Korea-Japan 2002 making him the only player to score 5 or more goals in successive World Cups. Currently, it is 0.5 goals per game scoring ratio for his country.
Therefore, both the German national team and Bayern Munich have so many regrets for his absence.
